Exploring Downtown

I think today was the best day yet. I woke up early and went to the beach. When I got home, I decided I was going to take the bus downtown. It took about an hour but it was well worth it. The place is amazing. It has that very urban look to it, yet, even in the city, theres palm trees and exotic plants and birds everywhere. Ive never seen anything like it. (above)

.......... So i get off the bus and Im just mesmerized by everything. I spent about an hour skating around and taking pictures untill I found a bikeshop. I went in and started talking to one of the workers. It turns out that he was born in VA but doesnt really remember sence he moved when he was five. He told me saturday they are premiering the knew S&M video (I didnt even know they were filming one). And afterwards they are having a cookout and a grindbox jam. Its going to give me a chance to meet some of locals and get a feel of what the scene is like here. I bought some animal pegs (thanks for the discount btw) and I was on my way. .............................. If you ride bikes, then you must come here at some point in your life. This place has everything, 10 skatparks(that I know of) drainage ditches everywhere (big ones!), trails, and some of the most amazing street you will ever find. These two spots below ive seen in videos, and they look sooo fun. I was going through totall withdrawl today, I havent rode my bike in weeks and Im around all this stuff and all I can do is look and admire.

Before the sun went down I cought the bus back to Ewa Beach. I got to the house any my bike box was there, a day early!! I riped that thing open like fat kid who just won a box of twinkies! Built it, and let my nephew (he calls me Uncle Joey, Hawaiian custom is to call your elders "Uncle") and acording to him it was "fast" and "loud" and "the seat is too small" but "still rode good", haha, that little kids a nut. Everyday when he gets off school he makes me go outfront and watch a new trick he learned on my board. (below)
